Meet RedPilot’s new camcorder, the Canon (HDV) HV20 Camcorder.
Today at 5pm, Ry tracked down the one and only HV20 in all of Western Canada at a Best Buy in Richmond. So we booted over the bridge and snapped up the camera 5 minutes before Sunday night closing time.
And now we are now livin’ large in HD baby! Oh yes. HD! It is so sexy I can hardly contain myself. We are shooting our first corporate promotional video tomorrow. Exciting. I will now do a happy little nerd dance of joy.
NB. We must now thank our old camcorder, the Canon Optura 40, for all the fun times we had together. You have served us well and we are grateful for that. But now you must find joy in the reverse angle of life. You may not be front and centre, but you’re still our number two, and don’t you forget that!

April 17, 2007 at 12:22 PMЯ использовал HV20 сегодня впервые, и это работает очень хорошо. Это имеет способ за 24p, который похож на фильм. *awesome*

April 17, 2007 at 1:39 PMYou could do better if you try, rather than use Google to translate phrases, cause machine translation sucks immensely. ;)
That’s how it should be:
Я использовала (fem. ending) HV20 сегодня впервые, и она (“she”, cause the word “camera” is of feminine gender in Russian) работает очень хорошо.
This one is a complete mistery to me. I understand, that camera has some special mode, but why does it “resemble film (motion picture)”? Aren’t all video-camera modes supposed to do so, aside from, say, photo or whatever?

April 17, 2007 at 1:59 PMthanks for the Russian tutorial.
i know, google translation does suck immensely. i don’t always have time to type all the Cyrillic characters so i sometime steal some words from the translators which usually makes a mess. i should go back and study Russian again. i have forgotten too much.
24p is a video format that operates at 24 frames per second. It makes digital videos look just like film.

April 17, 2007 at 4:35 PMAnd regularly how many frames it is? I ask, cause I don’t know jack about camcoders. :)

April 17, 2007 at 5:01 PM1. 60i (interlaced) = 29.97 frames per second.
2. 30p (progressive) = 30 frames per second.
