Mostly Seaworld, Gold Coast, Australia

Aug 25 2009

Video for Westworld.

After my serious photographic journey post, (thanks for all your comments!) I thought I’d lighten things with a video of me screaming really loud on roller-coasters and being quite silly. This video was taken at Seaworld in the Gold Coast (Queensland) during my month long stay in Australia last December.

If you happen to be Down Under definitely check out Seaworld. As you can tell, I had a lot of fun. :P

I shot this on my Flip mino and was a bit disappointed with the quality. I amped the colour saturation and increased the black point in iMovie which helped a lot. As far as the Flip family goes, this is the weakest model. I suggest getting the Flip Mino HD. I shot my River Rafting vid on it and that footage came out great.

Want more? Check out my Robson St adventure where I encounter a strange balloon man and a plethora of cupcakes.

PS Sorry if I blew your ear drums out with my screeeeam!

Mostly River Rafting with Hyak Wilderness Adventures

Jul 28 2009

Everyone has a “things to do before I die” list. From skydiving to bungee jumping to watching the sunset over the Great Pyramids, thrill-seeking and adventure travel are usually top on many Bucket Lists. In the top third of my “must-do” list is white-water rafting. I have always wanted to take the plunge, but have always been a bit chicken to try it.

Recently, I had the opportunity to conquer my fears and finally tear up some rapids on the Thompson River in Lytton with Hyak Wilderness Adventures.

I started my river-rafting extravaganza at 7 a.m., making the three-hour drive to Lytton (billed as the rafting capital of B.C.) from Vancouver.

The drive was quite beautiful through Chilliwack, then past Hope, and winding through Hell’s Gate and the steep, jagged cliffsides of the Black Canyon. I arrived just in time to catch a quick catnap in my car before I attacked those rapids. Read More in The Province.

don’t hate me but… i has MB Air.

May 14 2008

Whilst in England in February this year, I got very attached with a MacBook Air. It wasn’t mine but I wished and wished with all of my might for it to be so…

AND SOMEONE ACTUALLY SENT ME ONE!! A MB AIR!!! (CAPS LOCKS ATTACK!) How insane is that? I’m still waiting for a Darlick or a Darma dude or a cylon or Ashton or Jonah Takalua to appear…

PS. If anyone else would like to send me stuff, i still need an iPhone, more M&S Biscuits, and a dinosaur Pez dispenser to match my awesome dino PJs. Rarrrr.
