Geeky Stuff Life

thanks for the l0v3

Thanks for all the comment and email l0v3 and movie/tv/book suggestions. My neck feels less like a giant yarn ball of pulsating fire, and more like a golf ball of subtle flames. In my time away from the internet, I was unfortunate enough to catch “Resident Evil: Extinction” and Mila’s clunky, lack-luster wire stunts and sweet Gaussian-blurred face. Why can’t every zombie movie be like “Shaun of the Dead”.

Then, I learned some sweet breakdancing moves from Jonah Takalua and watched my new favourite show, the Australian mockumentary series, “Summer Heights High”. It’s kinda like if Christopher Guest, Ricky Gervais, Mitchell and Webb and “a dingo ate my baby” met, went to a bottlo, and threw so many shrimps on the barbie and wrote this. Either that or Chris Lilley is serious comedic genius.

Other than that I’ve got BSG: Razor on board for tonight, along with the Aliens Quadrilogy for back to back slimy, chest-bursting awesomeness and Ridley — Cameron — Fincher — Jeunet! That’s my kind of quadrilogy. Plus, one of these films has my favourite line of dialogue ever. 10 points and a place in my heart for guessing the correct phrase!

In addition, to watching movies I got some totally swedish IKEA furniture and sorta helped put it together.

Not a Lamp

And practiced my juggling techniques, one ball at a time.

And put my lomo film in the fridge for safe keeping.

lomo film in the fridge yumm

PS. I’m still not supposed to be on my computer, but i can’t help myself. I bursting, so I’m allowing myself 5 mins every two hours. That’s fair isn’t it?

PPS. It seems i have no will power when it comes to not using a computer, so i’ve had to make it nearly impossible to use my MB, by securing it shut with duct tape and putting it in a super high shelf along side the cookies, cakes, and chocolaty products. this would be an effective method if i only had one computer…

PPPS. I’m just saying no to plurk. enough is enough. i understand that twitter has been a jerk lately, but i still have love for those tweety birds. maybe things would resolve quicker if all they decided on a direction and flew that way ->

Your favourite line has to be ‘Game over man, game over’ said by Private Hudson (Bill Paxton) in Aliens

I so glad to hear that your feeling better.

A suggestion….I don’t know if you do most of your typing using your MB’s keyboards, but if you do you might consider getting a separate full size keyboard and mouse to use while you’re working from home. This helped me a few months ago.

PS I gather that range got your favorite line from the Aliens movies.

Chris Lilley is something quite special. Summer Heights High really was one of the best Australian produced shows of 2007.

I hope you have a speedy, complete recovery miss. That kind of shoulder/neck pain is really bad. I’ve had to have acupuncture to get rid of the muscles spasms before. And I HATE needles, so I must of been in a A LOT of pain to consider that treatment. :-/

“more like a golf ball of subtle flames”

Have you ever taken a golf ball apart? There’s more stuff in there than in the typical human! (Not that I’ve ever taken a human apart. That’s just a wild guess.)

    “- OOPS sat on keyboard!

The world should know of this.”

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahaha *bonk* Hahahahahahahahahahaha

Glad to hear you’re on the mend.

I learned to juggle watching Mr. Dressup, back in the day… although it didn’t save me form getting bonked in the head a number of times too. I feel your pain… on the head from juggling, not in the shoulder…

    Get well soon.

I can’t imagine how many hours it most have taken to write this post and the contest post, if you only spend 5 mins. on the computer every two hours… ;)

No Plurk eh? How about we call it Plürk just for you? That kinda has a Ikea-ring to it.

I’m glad we are moving down on the balls-o-pain scale from yarn balls to golf balls. Hopefully within a few days you’ll be down to navel lint ball…

One of the quotes I remember from Aliens is this one:

Marine #1 – Is this going to be a standup fight, sir, or another bughunt?

Sarge – All we know is that there is still is no contact with the colony, and that a xenomorph may be involved.

    Marine#2 – Excuse me sir, a what?

    Sarge – A xenomorph.

    Marine#3 – It’s a bughunt.
