No matter what happens tomorrow, I’ll still love you

Mostly Lisa & MacBook Air 4 ever… mostly

No matter how fancy or thin or sleek or polished the newly released MacBooks and MBPs look, I promise to stand by you, my lovely MacBook Air. Those flashy new guys may be faster, more powerful, or just plain better, but we have a special “connection” you and I. We’ve been through the good and the bad, haven’t we? And that’s not something I’d just throw away for some cheap thrills. And they would be cheaper. Word on the interwebs is a lot cheaper, as in under $1000. But even that wouldn’t sway me because I am committed to YOU. Ok?? I’m glad we had this talk.

Uh. What now?? You want me to stop looking at leaked photos on engadget or all reading all the hype on apple insider. I’m not.. I.. I.. just followed a link from twitter. You know what? You need to start trusting me here. You can’t just start monitoring everything I do from now on and holding my internet history against me! You know I clear the cache after 3 days anyway.

What? You’ve changed my preferences? Deleted all my passwords from my keychain? And you’ve stopped synchronizing with my iPhone? And you are not currently not accepting any bluetooth devices. Well that’s just great. *hmph*

Look, your beef is with me. Don’t take it out on the peripheries. And if you want to throw all that attitude at me, then why don’t I bring up the fact that I will never ever be truly satisfied with your ONE USB hub? And since we are being totally honest here, your hub is kinda flimsy and *cough* a little bit small. What’s that? You’re sorry for being so inflammatory and rude. Ok ok. I accept your apology.

But remember, jealousy will get you no where. There will always be others splashing their bits n’ bizznizz all over the net, and I may be tempted. Yeah, I’ll admit it, I’ll look, but there’s no crime in that. It’s completely natural to check out another Apple laptops stats, but I promise I will not stroke anyone else’s keys or snuggle up in bed with anyone but you…. mostly.

Let’s remember the good times, like when I got you. Look how happy I am!

Are you gonna stand by your old laptop, or trade it in for a newer, younger, prettier model?

Are you gonna buy a new MB or MBP?

I won’t replace my MBA for now. But I love your pictures accompanying the post, I can so totally relate to that feeling, the MacBook Air is just so huggable :)

I’m staying with my 17″ mac book pro. I like the prettier younger models but there will always be prettier younger models. I’ll stick with my older, still sexy and capable model.

My MacBook Pro is only a year old, I think I can hold our another year or two before a new one. It is still pretty and new to me.

The macbook air is SUCH a gimmick. sure it’s thin, but that’s cus it has nothing on it! The macbook pro is nice… but i’ll stick with my Dell… same specs as the MBP, $1000 less.

@Nick your point being? I was very well aware of its limitations when I bought it. Still does everything I need it to do, and much better and at much less weight than my previous machine.
I heard you get eye-cancer from looking at dells for too long, so be careful :)

Hey Lisa, you’re not the only one who got a Macbook Air for free. :P It really is amazing what you can get when you just ask for it. :)

Hahaha, SO funny… Apple always pisses me off with new hardware! But sometimes its cool to have the old stuff.. Like me with my OG iPhone, yeah its not 3G, but I’ve also had it for a year and I didn’t jump on the iPhone train when they dropped the prices.. Apple fan since pre OS X! :p

I have a pretty serious hardware upgrade addiction. I’ve already had my 1.5 year old MBP for 6 months too long. I will likely send it to the eBay graveyard as I did with my original iPhone.

Would loooove a MBP…but I just sold the farm for the new iMac with all the bells and whistles, AND CS4 was just released! Such an expensive addiction…

I don’t get some of this. There will always be new hardware. There will always be something different or faster a year from now. I suggest only upgrading when you need to.

Lisa, while the new MBA is thin, I’ll stick with my 15″ MacBook Pro that I bought in 06. Will look at upgrading when this laptop dies. :-)

    I don’t have a Mac.. :(

I have been anxiously awaiting today… I think I’m going to buy the 13″ MB (Shiny new Aluminum one)… I just have to work up the courage to part ways with my trusy Black NO-NAME desktop running Windows XP Service pack 280398504986….

    Should I take the jump?

It’s safe for me to write this. I’m at work and using a Lenovo T61 (on a Mac Keyboard though..does that count?!).

I just bought a MBP in June and I’m heading to the States next week…Damn you to hell Apple..How dare you release a new thingy when I’m going over there.

Should I sell the old one and buy a new one just because it’s new?

I was so proud of being a switcher with a flashy new MBP, but now I risk that someone else will come along with a new and even flashier MBP.

Life is so cruel sometimes ;)

lisa, I do recall you agreeing with miss justine on about your distain for the macbook air… when we met in vegas for NME2008…

I’m looking to upgrade my MB to a MBP with in the next couple of months. It’s a hard decision for me cause I really wanted to put the money toward the new 5Dm2 but alas I must go with the MBP. I wait for the 5Dm2 to drop in price…

Cause well Canon and Canon Retailers drop prices more so than Apple does. =D

Very funny. I enjoyed your post very much. Even though I learned about computing by using a Mac (I think you might have been a baby then) and still own an old 125 box, I am, for now, a PC user :( But I keep thinking about getting a Mac or two. It’s just that compatibility issue. But, if you are using it, and u seem extremely intelligent (albeit beautiful), maybe I’ll take a look at the new models (even if my PC threatens to kick me out). Cheers xo, enjoy your blog.

My black MacBook has served me well — although it is being a little bogged down with photos — it sure is cute and with a 23″ Apple Cinema Display — looks GREAT!!! A new MBP is in my future – just not my immediate future.

I just noticed something funny (at least to me), that only four women have submitted a response out of the 26 so far. I wonder if this is the ratio of women to men that visit mostlylisa.com. I’m pretty sure it’s close; I mean the only reason why I found lisa’s blog is because I saw a pic of lisa in a bikini months ago. (Too bad I can’t do that, it works differently for guys)

Oh. and I’ll buying a new MBP at the end of November

I’m going to stand by my macbook pro. The word in hollywood is, many animators, programmers and film editors dropped their PC laptops for the Macbook pro when they realized that no PC could out-perform it at that price-point. I’ve never seen so many “mac haters” drawn to the light of the glowing apple.

not to be a slut. but unless it has 17 inches then i am unfulfilled.

    gross.

i did just order a mac pro tower – which i plan on having binary intercourse with. i need to blow some steam before my next comment!

I’ll stick with my previous gen 2.5GHz MBP.

So — I thought I had a wicked awesome great deal getting the 2.4ghz NEW MB… Until the very nice Deshannon at the 800-Apple number explained how cool and awesome it’d be to get a refurb 15″ MBP — for LESS!

my MBP should be here early next week — I CAN”T WAIT!

I drooled over the MBA for a while, but my laptop must have an optical drive, so I ended up waiting for the new aluminum MB. Not quite as sleek as the MBA…. but pretty darned close.
