My brain is so famous.

Redpilot's first cover: British Journal of Sports Medicine
Photographer: Ryland Haggis, Redpilot Media. (I helped too)

Here’s a funny thing… So my multimedia company, Redpilot was hired to do a cover shoot of a physically exhausted runner for the cover of the British Journal of Sports Medicine. We had 2 days to shoot it , and missed the opportunity to grab some shots of tired runners at a big marathon by a few hours on the first day, and it was pouring rain the next day, so the shoot got pushed until late Sunday night.

*Cue panic.* Who are we gonna shoot? How are we gonna get this shot? Do you know any models? Or runners. Pause. Reflect. Oh right you’re a model. Aren’t you? And didn’t you run? You must have run at some point! Let’s just shoot you.

Gah. So at 11pm on Sunday night, I’m running up and down the staircase in my apartment whilst spraying water all over my face and body to get the desired sweaty, red-faced exhausted look. I have no make up on and I’m dead tired and somewhat unimpressed and that’s the picture that ends up on the cover of a major magazine. Yes that one. No not the one where I’m all fabulous. The one were I have a crazy illustrated brain and boney teeth and weird organs and stuff popping out. That’s the one they’ll remember you for.

PS. Don’t even talk to me about the legacy of the BC Transit Bus Guide Girl.

PPS. I have a HUGE & famous brain. I’ll out think all of yous! Seriously, quiz me on anything! I dare you!

PPPS. If you crack a Skeletor joke, I’ll shank you!

You look like you’ve been rolling around on wet newspapers. Maybe I need to adjust the brightness of my display.

I thought your Facebook status was just a joke, but you and your brain actually are famous! Wow.

Why so sad, don’t women want people to admire their brains these days, not just their beauty?… :)

You still look great in spite of all that. And the lighting is really good too, both the highlight from the left side of the frame on your hair, ear, and cheek and the catchlight in your eyes. And we all knew you had a huge, crazy brain long before it made the cover of a magazine. :)

I thought you were going to post a link to a famous brain in preserves or something. It’s hard to be proud when it comes at the default of being in the right place at the right time – but, hey, nice job being a pretty sweaty runner. Fun stuff.

You look like the poster model for a tatoo artist. Although the picture is somewhat freaky, I agree with the rest that you still look great. I do wish I could come up with a good Skeletor joke….getting shanked by Mostly Lisa….and I am back.

By the power of Greyskull..! I think your brain looks a bit flat, but luckily that doesn’t make the rest of you look anything less than great!

Nice new look. You should go to medical schools around the country and help students learn what is under the skin. You have a great trachea.

Nice cover, a talented photographer and model. :)

I read the bus story, it must have been interesting constantly seeing yourself around town. Does anyone still recognize you?

By the way, the link to redpilot media isn’t correct. You may wish to fix that.

    Enjoy checking your site.

How funny. Not your best looking picture, that’s for sure! Of course, I think anybody would look weird with an illustrated brain and muscles overlaid on top of their picture.
