    See I kinda understand this weather, in Ottawa we still have 10 ft snowbanks so hail is fair game.

    I moved here from Texas a year ago and I’m still trying to recalibrate my weather jargon. When I hear someone say “hail storm” I still think of giant chunks of ice battering roofs, destroying cars, breaking windows, and killing livestock. Then I look outside and see a little sleet and I have yet another reason to be thankful that I’m not in Texas any more.

    @Pete — i lived in Saskatoon for the first 8 years of my life, then lived in Toronto for a few years… i’ve paid my dues to the wintery goddess of doom.

    @Pasquale — i sure do like hyphens. and the lazy animals of australia.

    @Big Mike — ol’ Mr Gore promised me the heat would turn up a few notches this year. maybe i should litter more. heat up the planet one can o’ beans at a time.

    @Spike — kill livestock? serious? in Texas?

    @michael — kinda hard to build a snowman outta ice pellets. i gave it my all, he just wouldn’t stick together.

    @fotoeins — Viking hat + rollerblades?

    Serious. Hail the size of golfballs, baseballs, even grapefruit. Terrifying stuff.

    Doom, doom, DOOM!

    Indeed, what’s up with the weather the past couple of weeks? It’s like the weather gods and goddesses are on crack… one minute rain, the next snow, then hail… then sun and blue skies…

    When I saw you running Lisa, all I could think was ‘run Lisa, run!’

    Hey Lisa!
    I am from Vancouver, and yah, you guys are totally having bizarre weather up there!! My mom called me that day telling me about it lol – snow, sun, hail, sun, wind, sun, hail, rain, sun…all in one day!! haha
    I am in Texas now, so like Spike said, hail and thunder storms are the norm :P but for Van, that is definitely not the case.

    I also wanted to thank you for the bday wishes on my blog!! You rock, Lisa :D
