Why does everyone take a tape measurer to IKEA? Don’t they have dimensions on all the products they sell? :P

@Xavierb — nice to hear from you! happy 2008! yes the tape measure! they do put the dimensions on products, but they use inches and being a good Canadian metric girl, i wrote down all my dimensions in cms. and being one of those rare geeks that are rubbish at simple maths, i had to use my trusty tape measure to help me along.

plus, there is something cool about carrying a tape measure around whilst shopping. it says, “i mean business! i can measure things! don’t try to pull a fast one on me i know that shelf is a mm short!”

What a cool video. I love your comment “I’m so web 2.0, look at the rounded corners”. Classic.

You Lisa, are a gem, and not one of those diamonds in the rough sort of gems either… you’re polished and shiny… hehe… like Ikea but more web 2.0 :)

@Sean — aww thanks! i’m glad i’m polished and shiny with 2.0 rounded corners. that’s much better than dimwitted and dull with rough, pointy corners!

PS. i always seem to spend more time goofing around the show rooms in Ikea, than actually finding things i came looking for. this time i left with many more Tennet boxes than i had planned. so now i have one box entirely devoted to tape. i’ve labeled it “sticky things”. so i’m thinking glue may be able to live in this box as well.

@Lisa: Maybe you can start a new trend in web… you could call it web 2.1-Lisa (beta) powered by more sexy curves :)

Tape is awesome. I like post-its too. They have a sticky side.

Speaking of tape, have you ever looped a piece of tape and stuck it to your forehead? Hehe… not that I’ve personally tried it but I’ve heard it’s fun. Maybe something to try in your next Ikea video adventure?
