@mostlylisa gone!

Dear Twitter,

My Twitter page @mostlylisa has been hacked and deleted. It’s GONE!!! I am currently catatonic. Please help me restore my account, it’s like, my meaning in life.

Much love to whom ever helps me!

PS. If you miss me like I miss you, you can always be my Friend OR Fan on Facebook. I know it’s not the same, but it’s all I have now. *hold me*

Been in that situation before, I sent a direct email to Twitter Support and after 8 days, I got my account back online…

First think I did was change to a strong password, but I do imagine this was for an API fault and not pwd hack …

In the name of the thousands that know you virtually, I can say: Be strong! :)

That’s so harsh! I got the message from following TapTapTap (as you might guess) and re-tweeted. I really hope this is sorted.

Can you recover anything from any of the backup services, or are those no good now?

    with best regards,
    Karn.

@WebKarnage: I dunno. Looking into it now.

This is the problem I have with all the services that use Twitter that require you to give up your password to use them. This is not a good idea in the long run.

This happened to a friend of mine as well…took about 10 days to get her up and running again. Never found out the cause.

    Hope you get “reinstated” soon!

That sucks! I don’t tweet that much so you can have some of mine to help bring your count back up. You can also think of this as a fresh start! It can be the Mostly Lisa 2.0 on twitter. Slicker, sassier, and sexier!

  • bonscott
    October 1, 2009 at 3:40 PM

That totally sucks! Hope you get things back up and running soon!

That does stink but on a brighter note I liked how you changed up your header image and I really like the photoshop job you did on your Twitter Home Page. No worries, you’re still Mostly Lisa you’re just “mostly” not tweeting much :(

Man, that sucks! You could go back to your @LisaBettany account while you wait, I bet. And when you get your account back, you can use http://backupmytweets.com/ for old tweets. I used it, and they’re stored in the cloud and on my hard drive.

Sorry to hear this! I’d tweeted asking if your eye was better… Then went to send you the below link and found that I couldn’t find you. I shouldn’t be so self conscious… Was sure you’d blocked me on twitter. Hope this gets resolved quickly. Maybe some zombie news will brighten your day? http://www.miamiherald.com/news/florida/AP/story/1261716.html

It’s never too late… Just in case nobody had suggested this to you yet:

Change to a strong password on your OTHER online accounts.
If you use the same password for more than one online account, start with any accounts that used the same password as the one you used on twitter. Then, stop using the same password on different sites. :)

After that, think of it this way – did you provide an email account when you signed for twitter? Change that email account password.

When you signed up for that email account, did you provide a backup email for password recovery? Change that second email account password, too. You get the idea :)

Be safe and best of luck to you!

    Congratulations Lisa !
Apparently your @mostlylisa account is back online.
They must have restored it from a backup because I see your previous tweets.

(I noticed because I once favorited one of your previous tweets and it popped back up into my Nambu client.)

Hope you can access it with no problem.
    Anyway welcome back ;)
