Chapter One: i heart Trees

Today I am adding a new chapter to my i heart Mother Earth Photography Series called: i heart Trees.

Introduction:

When I see the ridiculous amount of packaging that my two person household goes through in a week, I am appalled. I try to buy products with less packaging, but it’s pretty much impossible to find an organic, hemp, burlap sack filled with Cheerios. So I continue to find creative ways of reusing Cheerios boxes (which are great for making directional flash aids called Snoots and Gobos) and egg cartons (which are great for putting boiled eggs in if you haven’t got any egg cups) and almost everything can be used in a Wes Anderson inspired collage. Crafty, isn’t she!

But I’ll admit it. Recycling can sometimes be a huge drag. There are so many kinds of paper, plastics, and glass things. It’s a huge commitment to wash all the cans, jars, and bottles, then peal off the labels, and then sort them by their cryptic and nearly invisible recycling codes. I am constantly forgetting what the number in the little triangle means, so I always have to call my mum to ask her for a definitive answer on the matter.

Lisa’s Recycling Pet Peeve: Ripping those little plastic envelope windows from their recyclable paper surroundings. It’s downright finicky. And I never want to deal with frustrating, finicky plastic pealing after I’ve received my latest overdue Hydro/Phone/Visa bill.

But I do it everyday. Why? Because i heart Mother Earth. And i heart trees. I want Lady Gaia to be loved and respected, so I try to do my part, however small, it is my gift to her.

So now I present the first photo in Chapter One: i heart Trees.

Now that’s something worth saving. Yes it is.

Wow, guys. Thanks for the great feedback. But can you hear the moss? or taste the sap? Because that’s what I was aiming for: A sensory explosion.
