H. Potter

Went to the opening of the new Harry Potter flick, the Order of Pheonix last night at midnight… it was superwickedawesome!!!

also awesome, going to 3 different cinemas in Vancity cuz it was sold out… ending up at Oakridge Centre in an old skool theatre packed with giggly teens with no air-con in 30 degree heat! there was much cheering at the end so i guess they liked it.

It was OK. I found that Daniel Radcliffe was too buff to be a scrawny 15 year old kid. If I remember, that’s how old H. Potter is supposed to be in this movie.

Concerning the books, I really enjoyed the first four books. The fifth and sixth were disappointing. I have pre-ordered the seventh and hope that it will be a great finale.

I had this one kid behind be who kept bumping into my seat. My response was to shake my seat for the whole movie. I gave him an evil look when I got up at the end of the flick.

Just OK??? i thought it was a bit disconnected in places, but i enjoyed every second. harry is like the rings and buffy for me… even the boring, derivative moments have a special place in my heart because i love the characters, the world, and the magics. i thought Ron was super funny, Hermoine earnest with an odd chemistry with harry… what’s going on there off-screen i wonder?? and harry, yes he is bigger and buffer that most 15-year-old boys, but you can’t blame Radcliffe for growing can you? plus, with his new added, dare i say, sex appeal, he will hopefully secure himself other “leading man” roles outside of the potter world.

i personally didn’t mind the sweaty dream scenes at all. the cinematography was quite good.

PS. you can deny the coolness of the wizard fight at the ministry of magic. superwickedawesome.

Naturally parts of it were very cool, but I think my feelings about the movie stem from the fact that I found that the book wasn’t as good as I expected it to be.

After the Goblet of Fire, I expected the next Harry Potter to be crazy insanely good. It wasn’t and parts of the plot didn’t make that much sense.

I’ve just received a call; i’ll pick up Harry Potter tomorrow morning.
