Rocking Twitter Bird Illustration by Pasquale D’Silva
Vectorama is a regular design/illustration competition on MostlyLisa.com. Last time, the Steelie’s Canadian Beaver took the top prize.
This month’s theme is Twitter Love!
Recently we’ve seen a lot of talk of new twitter mutinies in favor of more stable or enhanced mo-blogging platforms like Friend Feed. Though I use other platforms, nothing beats Twitter for me. In honor of the FailWhale, I’d love all the vector savvy design peeps out there to vector up a sweet Twitter bird. Maybe we can turn some fail in to Win…Whale. Wait, that didn’t make sense.
Oh and answer this question: With the new twitter clones popping up, are you going to stay with twitter or change to something new?
For the rules, read on:
Here are the rules:
- Your illustration must be vector i.e. Adobe Illustrator
- Your design must include a twitter bird… or many!
What you win:
- Vector Sized Glory!!!
- A coveted adspace on my sidebar which will display your winning design and link to your website for one month.
- A whole lotta link l0v3 and straight up respek!
**Send your 500×300 entries to mostlylisa *at* gmail *dot* com. You have until Tuesday, August 12th to get your entries to me.**
Judging:
Blog fans and general internet peeps will vote for the top 3 Vectoramas. Then, the winner will be picked by yours truly and announced at a later date!

That twitter bird is such a goofball with those headphones.

Yessssssssss!
And I’m staying loyal to Twitter.

I’ll stick to twitter.
I love the simplicity even though the constant IM issues are annoying.

I never was loyal to Twitter. I started microblogging from Jaiku, and I like it more than Twitter because it allows for building up of short conversations in the form of a single thread. And of course, the Google name :).

I’ll be sticking with Twitter. The whale would be crushed if I left…

I’ve been using Identi.ca a bit lately. It’s not as feature robust as Twitter (which is saying a lot), but once it develops a little more, I think I’ll switch. I love open philosophy, so I really can’t resist!

I’ll move to a different microblog if every single person that I curently follow on twitter moves to the exact same one and uses that new microblog as their main microblog. And the chances of that are slim.

What Kristina said. Also, Twitter’s sms notification feature excels imo. Identi.ca’s still needs work. I don’t get too many notices from it, but having to reply with ‘read’ in order to read every message you receive from the service gets old (and possibly expensive) fast.

Added. Nice work on this one. Btw, my blog is dofollow, stop by and grab a link. Walter

I won’t be jumping on any other platforms soon. I don’t feel any loyalty to Twitter, but I’m liking it for now.
Weeeee! Another vector comp. I will try to do one by the submission date this time! Sadly, I have a “practice thesis” due mid August, so I should probably stop letting myself get distracted and get writing. We’ll see!
