Thanks to the uber illustrator masters who entered their sweet Vectorama. I guess they’re pretty good. But still, take a quick look at my spider/caterpillar design, before you go choosing the winner. I mean this Vector carries a powerful message.

Who do you think should win? Leave a comment below and let me know who you think should win the accolades of the first Mostly Lisa Vectorama champion!

Mostly Lisa's Entry for the First Annual Illustrator Vectorama

Don't mess with my Vectorama

Currently sorting through all the wikkid Vectorama entries listening to MJ’s “History”. It’s actually kind of awesome. He may be one crazy dude, but damn, was he ever funky. “Don’t stop til you get enough.” Does anyone know the “Thriller” dance? That’s something worth putting your time into.

Sorry for the delay in getting the entries up, but I had a wee bit of a late start today and actually had to do some work. Lame. And then there was the “flaming hot cross bun in toaster” incident. *sucks burnt finger*

Vectorama Vectorama!!

I’ve already received some uber design entries for the First Annual Mostly Lisa Illustrator Vectorama Contest. In fact, I’ve almost snorted milk out of my nose because of one of the entries.

But I have to admit, nothing really holds a candle to my 5 legged spider. Oh he’s cunning that one. Well, he really has to be, with only 5 legs to scuttle aboot.

So get you’re act together! Open Illustrator and get your Adobe-on. You have until Sunday, March 9th at midnight (-8 GMT) to get your entries to me:
mostlylisa *at* gmail *dot* com.

Mostly Lisa’s Illustrator Vectorama Entry Rules:

  1. You must use Illustrator (obviously)
  2. Your design must not scare small children or warp the minds of impressionable youth
  3. You must include some kind of text that encapsulates the meaning of your illustration

The Vector-sized glory and a spot on my advertising gold mine of a sidebar could be yours. It’s only a few clicks away.

If the iPhone Software has a roadmap, why can’t it find Canada? We’re like the second biggest country in the world.

Canada is big find it steve

Lo-5,

Mostly Lisa

PS. The Green Arrow is Vancouver, where I am. Feel free to send the first Canadian iPhone there. Much Love.

In the last year, I have been on a quest to find an application that will allow me to upload and organize my flickr photos from my desktop. I’ll be honest, I hate the navigation and homepage on Flickr. I just don’t vibe with the work flow. It’s just not instinctive to me and I find myself constantly backtracking and fiddling with tags and sets and clicking on avatars and drop down menus… Uh. Enough!

Today, my quest finally ended when I met: Photonic: Flickr Client for Mac OS X.

Looks nice. Uploading, tagging, setting privacy, and adding photos to sets and groups is easy peasy. You can even view your contacts photos and explore the flickr universe all from the comfort of your desktop. And after playing around with it for several hours, I can find no real fault with it. Also, it appears to run smoothly with Leopard. Yeah! That’s some good news.

I met a squeaking fish at a Dollar store on West Broadway. He had many tales to tell me. Some were somewhat avant garde. We went on a short journey and I learnt many things.

What did you learn from the dollar store fish?

NB. This is possibly the weirdest video I’ve ever made.

Last week RBeezy challenged me to an Illustrator-Off. Being an ultra competitive person and an “expert” at all things Adobe, I am taking up this challenge with a fiery passion that feels like a cross between heartburn and sea sickness. No one said that creativity felt good.

And without further ceremony, I present my entry into the challenge:

Mostly Lisa's Illustrator-Off Entry

I know. It’s powerful. You definitely got your work cut out for you.

If you think you can produce an Illustrator design of great technical merit and expression email a 500×500 (max) JPG it to me: mostlylisa *at* gmail *dot* com. Take that Spam P1r@+z!

I will post your entries on my blog (no matter how feeble I they are) and let my fans vote for the winner of the First Annual Mostly Lisa Illustrator Vectorama. The winner will receive a coveted spot on my sidebar linking their winning design to their website. That advertising will be golden my friend, golden. And if I win, I’ll just put another picture of myself. People seem to like it. Why stop now?

Kits beach just before sunset

Kitsilano Beach, Vancouver, BC, right before sunset. Taken with my Canon Xti (400D).

PS. Just watched “That Mitchell and Webb Look” and had to stop the DVD after one show because my stomach hurt so much from laughing. So ace.
