What says “Friday night” more than a picture of a croissant? Not much. What does “croissant” mean to you? And why? Feel free to comment on this any any other croissant/or baked goods related topic. I, myself, will ponder this question whilst I commence my bi-yearly Ridley Scott marathon:
Alien
Blade Runner
Gladiator
Black Hawk Down
American Gangster
Sometimes you just need a little Ridley.

What movies will you watch? I assume that Gladiator will be in the mix.

Oh god, what wouldn’t I do for a delicious croissant right now? Nice and warm, right out of the oven …
If only I had the energy to go all the way downstairs and make some. But alas, I’m too tired (read: lazy).

I don’t know why, but my dad obsesses over croissants. He is a chef, but I mean, he’ll eat a good 4-5 for breakfast if he can get his hands on them.

I want to eat that photo! (May have to print it first, though). Croissants are so breakfast! While staying in Paris they are always like “voici, un croissant. Voulez-vous café noir ou au lait?”

I have never had a croissant on a Friday night. For me it is rad wine and a good sirloin steak.
I could cope with those movies though.

@tyfn — i appended my post to include my Ridley movie picks.
@Mitchell — i like laziness and croissants. it’s unfortunate that the pair do not seem to walk hand in hand for you. may i suggest storing your food upstairs so you don’t have to move when hungry. or like me, you can stock pile snacks in your bedside table instead of books. after all you can listen to a book on itunes, but you cannot eat a snack off the internet at all. what are you talking about? i really don’t know. it sounded funny in my head and then i just kind of went for it. it didn’t really work did it? no. no it didn’t. crap.
@Pasquale — that’s a lot of croissants. i have not dared to eat more than 3 in one sitting.
@August - -i did eat that picture. mangemangemange
@Mark — i like steak, but wine makes me wonky.
@Pablo — sure is!

ridley is awesome! very good choice
Kingdom of Heaven is another one by him as well
I have the addition with him explaining all the making of and idea behind it, excellent stuff
now I could go for a nice soft croissant filled with jelly, but I will have to deal with shreddies (for dinner)
Pasquale said on March 2nd, 2008 at 11:29 pm
I dare you to eat 4.

@Compose — Both the Scott Bros are ace. Have you seen the directors cut of Kingdom of Heaven (the one with 4 extra features discs? I was quite disappointed with that movie, mostly because I think Orlando’s is a pontz and could not carry a leading part in a powerful movie. I also thought the editing was a bit strange, but apparently the studio made Ridley edit out loads of great scenes for length.
@Pasquale — I accept your dare only if you participate in the dare with me. pictorial evidence is a must.

Did you meet Jo-Ellen (said with a New York twang (?)) in Bury?
When we lived in London my partner Melissa worked for Jo_ellen who ran a really cool training company - and lived in Bury St E.
We visited once and built fences for a charity….
New to your blog but fellow Vancouverite - like what your doing - peace out.
Nick

@Nick — uuhhh was i supposed to? i knew there was something i was supposed to do whilst in England but didn’t get around to. And now I know that it was build fences with Jo-Ellen. Apologize for me will you?
Pasquale said on March 4th, 2008 at 5:09 am
@ Lisa, ok, but you have to provide neat pictures too. I must warn you- I’m a measly lanky 48 kilos/105.8 pound (according to google)piece of croissant destroying machine.
-ok, but no really, I’m going to get my arse kicked by a Canadian woman. This is so happening.
ComposeAnalysis said on March 11th, 2008 at 8:49 pm
yeah that is the one I have too and I agree with everything you say. Now I am a huge fan of swords and knights so it was nice to watch all those discs. Orlando did seem out of place in the movie the first time I watched it but after hearing what Ridley talked about and watching it atleast 6 more times he fits a bit better.

Lis, we still haven’t done this. I totally forgot about it. I promise sometime next week or something.
