It looks like the latest Apple update changes the firmware on you're superdrive, and now i got a superdrive that reads cd's, spits out dvd's (refuses to play any DVD, recorded with data or a normal original movie DVD) and refuses to write cd's or dvd's. I've contacted Apple, and the only thing they tell me is for me to take my MacBook to a Mac Genius, problem is i live in Portugal, we don't even have a Mac physical shop in here!!! only the online shop is available... so i ended up packing and sending my work MacBook to Apple UK... with my luck, it will probably get lost, stolen, broken or something else on the way there... And don't even start me on the price problem... just for you to get a idea, a MacBook Pro in the US is $1999US, the same MacBook Pro in here is $2858US.... that's $859US more expensive...
