I'm a simple convert who didn't know x=10 but I've seen the light and moved across. Everything was just so until I upgraded to Leopard and since then the beach ball has become my nemesis..

You got a couple of kernel panic's... that's nothing compared to what i got.

I have 2 MacBook's Pro, a 15" (mine) and a 17" (work), on mine i was lucky and pretty much everything works, i still get the occasional spinning beach ball, but nothing to serious.

On the 17", last friday, after the update to 10.5.2 i got 11 dead pixels and a dead superdrive. It looks like the latest Apple update changes the firmware on you're superdrive, and now i got a superdrive that reads cd's, spits out dvd's (refuses to play any DVD, recorded with data or a normal original movie DVD) and refuses to write cd's or dvd's.

I've contacted Apple, and the only thing they tell me is for me to take my MacBook to a Mac Genius, problem is i live in Portugal, we don't even have a Mac physical shop in here!!! only the online shop is available... so i ended up packing and sending my work MacBook to Apple UK... with my luck, it will probably get lost, stolen, broken or something else on the way there...

And don't even start me on the price problem... just for you to get a idea, a MacBook Pro in the US is $1999US, the same MacBook Pro in here is $2858US.... that's $859US more expensive...

Sorry about this... i just had to vent my current frustration with Apple...

There are (now finally acknowledged) bugs in the FW Core Audio drivers in 10.5.x. Apple has indicated that there are "new" drivers that have fixed the various issues,According to a note that Apple developer support sent to a FW Audio vendor in late January, there IS a new and supposedly bug-fixed set of FWCoreAudio drivers (242-4-3). For whatever reason, they didn't make it into 10.5.2. Apple told the vendor that the public release date was not yet determined.....</description>
